Jesse Clements Young, Sr., 90, of Littleton, passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2014. He was the son of the late James Richard and Ruth King Young. Mr. Young served his country in the United States Army during WWII.

He was preceded in death by four sisters, Bertha Walker, Mildred Rodwell, Gladys Wright, and Olivia Moseley; and one brother, Gordon Richard Young.

He is survived by his wife, Bessie Wright Young; one son, Jesse C. Young, Jr. and his wife, Laura, of Yorktown, VA; one granddaughter, Jessica Young McCaffrey and her husband, Scott; five grandsons, Christopher, Cody, Brandon, Michael, and Colton; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 20, 2014, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Askew Funeral and Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids.

Graveside services with Military Honors will be held on Friday, March 21, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Gardner’s Baptist Church in Macon, NC, officiated by Rev. Frank Stansbury.
